How to Play (and Get): Unreal Tournament 3
guides · Unreal Tournament 3 · Mar 18, 2026
>Unreal Tournament 3 (UT3) is a first-person arena shooter video game developed by Epic Games and published by Midway Games. Part of the Unreal franchise, it is the fourth game in the Unreal Tournament series, and the eighth game of the franchise overall. Its title refers to the game being the first in the franchise to use Unreal Engine 3.
This game is delisted from online stores as of 2022, so if you have retail or online version — you're extremely lucky.
For not-so-lucky gamers, there is archive.org page with game and all the patches (they also may be required to play latest patch): https://archive.org/details/ut3-ce-pc
**Owning the game before downloading this version is highly recommended.**
If you have Steam version (or patch 2.1), install the game and skip to the last step.
1. Install Retail/base version of the game from ISO or disk.
Sometimes in this step, "This App Has Been Blocked by Your System Administrator" error arises. The simplest solution to this is "Open CMD as administrator, cd into the directory that the file is, then run the file directly from CMD". Otherwise refer to search engines for most fitting solution. (maybe https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Unreal_Tournament_3#Installing_the_retail_version will help ^_^)
2. Install patches in the following order:
1. Patch 1
2. Patch 2
3. Bonus Pack
4. Patch 3
5. Patch 4
6. Titan Pack
7. Patch 5
8. UT3 GS Patch
3. Install OpenSpy patch to make accounts and server list work (replace binary in Binaries/ folder): https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/2577-ut3-openspy-patch/
Then you can start your game, enter your CD key (also available in archive.org download), create account and enjoy this great game!
